which is also more effective. That is Oryzalin (the active ingredient in
the herbicide Surflan). I believe all lily hybridizers have changed to
Oryzalin now.

This was a fascinating post the first time around and it remains one of the
more intriguing ideas I have encountered in this forum. I wish someone with
technical know-how would elaborate on the potential for irises implicit in
John's post. I feel strongly that should this prove a viable alternative to
so toxic a compound as Colchicine we on the list have some responsibility to
dessiminate the idea.
