Christmas time. Nice box of goodies ordered from Keith Keppel arrived
today including a huge, sweet potato shaped rhizome of CAJUN SPICES '94
Maryott with 12 (!!) increases on it. I don't know Keith, but somehow,
I see a grin while packing this monstrosity.
So, my question is, is this "normal" for this cultivar? Any suggestions
as to whether I should put it in the heavy feeding, extra water
rebloomer bed or out in the gravel pile desert? I plan to pot all these
in the shade for a while, assuming we MAY get rain again sometime
although after hearing on the news about this shaping up to be an even
worse el nino than the last one, I'm not counting on it. This'n will
NOT fit in a 4 inch pot!
He sent PERFECT GIFT '96 Keppel as a bonus/gift (a great name for a
bonus and nice and short!).

right in the middle of that oblong area in east Tennessee forecast to
have low rainfall with el nino. Last el nino, we had 32 inches of
annual rainfall compared to our average of close to 60. Major drought,
federal disaster area, etc. This year, only about 1 1/2 inches of rain
since the monsoons in June.
