Sharon--I've been a customer of theirs for over 10 years, usually ordering
in both spring and fall, and have had only one disappointment--I complained
about an Iris bucharica bulb arriving without the storage roots. My
complaint was promptly taken care of with a replacement bulb.
However it could be what you ordered, as you say. I usually just use them
as a source of bulbs, often mixtures, because of their low prices.
One mail-order nursery operator I heard from said that nearly 75% of
herbaceous perennial and other plants supplied by growers in Holland are
mislabelled or not true to name. Part of this is explained by the fact
that they grow from seed what should be vegetatively propagated.
