Not to my knowledge, although I. iberica is in the background of some of

The term "Spanish Iris" originated because the Subgenus to which they
belong, Xiphium, is native to Spain.
"English Iris" is something of a misnomer. Their ancestors also Xiphium
species from Spain, but this line adapted to the colder climate of Englan=
d
hundreds of years ago.
