Merrily and all--this iris has been a cipher here, too. The first 3 years I
had it, it produced nothing but lots of green leaves. Last fall it was
moved to iris-virgin soil which was fortified with compost and alfalfa
pellets. We had MUCH rain this spring. It has responded with incredible
growth and bloom.
The BAD news is....it rots almost as fast as it grows, and now is in real
danger of bloom-out. Altho I liked the flower very much when I finally saw
it--I think this one is going into the "too fickle to bother with"
bin--unless it does bloom-out first!
