A Small miracle has occured, I scraped backlayers of wood chips I used as
mulch to create a space for new rows. I took me 8 hours, no kidding. Then I
made another space for a shorter row. Then my husband came to look and made
two other short 10x3 row spaces in the mulch. ( Shoveling wood chips 1 foot
thick is like shoveling sand) Then I ordered some new screened loam with old
cow maure already in it. Then the truck came and got stuck. Then the man went
home and came back with his catapillar shovel thing to pull his big truck out
and then he used the bucket part to fill the loam into my rows instead of
dumping it all in one huge pile. In 15 minuted he did the work that would
have taken me another 8 hours.
So the miracle is I have some beds ready and waiting for new iris.!!!!!!!!!
Thje question is should I lime this new loam as it is mixed with cow manure
which I know is acid.
