Miriam,

One added note about Asters - in our zone they are very
invasive, so be careful where you plant them.  i've heard
some people plant them inside of a bottomless pot to
keep their roots contained.  (I started two years ago with
4 plants from a friend - they now cover about 5 square feet)

Also, Tall Phlox and Day Lilies will stay clumped unless you
decide to move their location.  Every where I've snapped a
root, I have volunteers!
