Region 22 Annual Meeting

Hi friends,

I would like to encourage any of you to try to attend your region meetings
in your area. I wish there was another name for judging schools. A lot of
people hear that title and think that excludes them. When in fact, judging
schools are open to anyone. Each instructor lends their own style to the
school. I always learn something from each one I attend.

I echo Walter & Celia - meeting with people you know is like an extended
family. My drive was 8 hours to get there. I ran into heavy rain the last
hour (Jerry & Melody Wilhoit drove in rain all day from Illinois) so I had
my headlights turned on with my windshield wipers. When we arrived, I
forgot to turn them off so it drained my battery. Triple A came Sat &
charged it up. But I did not disconnect my cell phone & it drained again.
Sat night Bill & Elizabeth McVicker, Kingfisher, Okla, hooked up their
battery cables & got me going. I drove around the hotel several times (
like an indian circling the wagon trains) Sun morning the McVickers waited
until we were loaded up, started up & safely on the road. Since returning
home several of my extended family has called to make sure we made it home
safely. 

We did get into another rain storm on our return trip. Heavy rain, 75 mile
wind, a semi-truck trailer flipped over a by-pass, we arrived home to the
dust bowl. 

Anyway my granddaughters were excited to see the iris Walter gave me. (They
remember how pretty  LEMON CHESS was in OKC this spring) Thanks Celia &
Little Rock for a great time.
