Yesterday, Aug 12, kind of as a last minute thought we decided to go to
Tulsa, Oklahoma and attend the Tulsa Area Iris Society's monthly
meeting. We left Springfield around 3pm and arrived in Tulsa about
6:30pm, promptly got lost (turned the wrong direction) but arrived at
the meeting only 15 minutes late, 7:15pm.
We met many wonderful and friendly iris lovers and when the drawing for
a new introduction was made my name was among the 5 drawn! :) Now I
have to attend the next meeting, September 10, to receive my new iris!
The Tulsa club is having their fall beardless sale on September 12 so
our plans are to go back on the 10th, FREE supper the evening of the
10th, spend the 11th helping them set up and of course attend the sale
on the 12th. Everyone there at the Tulsa club made us feel very welcome
and we watched a slide show of the Denver garden tours. Some beautiful
irises!
