Re: sand mulch

I have seen no evidence that sand will deter crickets. My soil is sandy
loam and I used sand as a bed for bricks and slate. I still have lots of
crickets. In fact, the cricket season started VERY early this year. On
the other hand, slugs have never been a problem here. :)
