Goodness gracious!  My slugs only get to be half that size.  I just can't
understand what it is about my garden or about my slugs (and crickets) that
keep them from being destructive.

If I could figure it out I'd be a millionaire selling the information to
gardeners around the world!  :)  <just kidding!>

At the risk of being presumptious, have you tried using crushed eggshells
as a deterrent?  or diatomaceous earth?
