Mike, this is so cool! I've been off-line for a couple of days & just
found your post & photos. Once again the 'Net provides (almost) instant
gratification, with a huge assist from M. Lowe. Now, if the photos of my
Nameless iris were only available for comparison -- but of course
they're still in the camera...

My memory is that your glamour shot of LORELEY is much like my blooms
(particularly as to colors, veining, etc.) with these exceptions: if
there was any "crawling purple" on any standards is was very slight &
made little or no impression on me; all the standards were tighter,
similar to those in the photo of IRIS KING; the falls were flipped
upward even more perkily than they appear in either of these photos.

So it seems ever more doubtful that what I've got is LORELEY but rather
another median of the same color combo. But I realize IDing an unknown
definitively is a long process & I greatly appreciate all the help you &
other Talkers have provided.

BTW, if I ever have many iris blooms, whatever their names, as "messy"
as that shown in your other photo of LORELEY I'll probably wonder what
toxins are lurking in the soil here...
