I beg to differ.

This is not a "topic of contention" it is a "subject under discussion". 

It was raised by a thoughtful longtime list member and onetime professional
nurseryman, and has been discussed from diverse perspectives by several other
folks, including some very distinguished irisarians, among whom there is a
variety of opinions but no rancor whatsoever and certainly no intent to
adulterate anyone's pleasure in anything. Furthermore, it is the one of the
few meaty discussions we have had in an eternity.

But perhaps someone else would care to come up with a suggestion for something
new and interesting to talk about.
