CULT: Weeds

From: "william b. cook" <billc@atlantic.net>

I'm thinking to myself, 'Could it be that the weeds had really pulled
that much nutrition out of the soil? ' And also, why the leaf spot? I
don't know the question, but I now know the
> answer. Weed free is better.

Karen,
The weeds to pull nutrients from the soil. Now, about the leaf spot.
The weeds trap in moisture, making the Iris leaves slower to dry. This
makes conditions such that the pathogen that causes the leaf spot can
activate. Remove the weeds and all dead Iris leaves, and the new leaves on
the affected plants will be healthy.
