Earlier this year I checked with Mark Cook about growing TBs in Florida.
My niece had moved from Atlanta to Titusville, and she had taken some
pieces of her irises with her. She still had them in pots and was
wondering how to care for them in FLA. I am totally infamiliar with
growing conditions there.>>
Don't mean to "rain on your parade", but don't be surprised if the TB's in
Titusville just "go away" in a year or so. I've been trying to grow them in
Palm Bay, about an hour south of Titusville, for 8-10 years with NO SUCCESS
whatsoever. It appears that since they don't go dormant, they never increase.
I'm now in the process of experimenting with "rebloomers" in hopes that they
will survive. I grow 400+ TB's in Ohio where we spend summer months, but have
yet to find one of them that will accept Florida as home. I've switched
entirely to Louisiana's there and they love it.
