"Irises" for Titusville, Florida

From: "william b. cook" <billc@atlantic.net>

These two members of the Iris family will grow well in Titusville,
Florida.

1. African Iris. White with some lavender and orange markings. The
growth habit of the plant is similar in look to that of a Siberian Iris.
Peak bloom is late spring through late summer, but can bloom any time of
the year. Easy to grow in Florida.

Tiger Eye Iris. Yellow with brown spots. After bloom, it forms baby
plants on the stems in a manner similar to that of a Spider Plant. Blooms
from spring through fall, and can bloom in winter in sheltered spots. Very
easy to grow. This plant is very popular with kids. The babies can be
rooted, resulting in more of these Irises.

Both types should be available at nurseries in Titusville. African
Irises (Dietes) can be found anywhere, while the Tiger Eye Iris may be more
difficult to find. Christa, if need be I could save some babies...
