Please excuse this "pecking in" on your chicken question, just had to say
that nitrogen in droppings not sufficient to due damage if you keep the
chicken+garden space ratio in mind. The biggest problem will be their foot
size, the bigger the chicken the bigger the feet, their main digging tool
the more damage they can do. Banties have small feet at the end of
powerful legs, which works perfect for our garden. We have nine now and it
is still too many for this size garden, 5 is just about right to keep the
bugs down and most of the scattered seeds picked up. Have a great week-end,
we are off to our cabin for a night in the high Sierras. Lorraine, where
we are still filling orders and loving every minute of it.
