When our club first started doing shows at the mall,
they would pay us to come in.
Eventually we worked out a deal that if we put on the Spring
Flower Show for free, we could come back in the fall and have
our rhizome sale.
Now starting next year we have to pay $400 per event, we could
do a Community Service Event for free, but if we sell any plants, then
we have to pay. Since our shows cost us $1500, we were selling potted
plants at $5.00 each, and sell about 300 pots to cover our expenses.
We've decided to pay, since the malls are where the people are and
would be best for our shows and sales. The one good thing is that we can
reserve the place a year in advance and don't have to worry about dates
and whether they will let us in.
