RE: REF: Judges Handbook

On the top of pg 37 in the Handbook for Judges and Show Officials...The
schedule empowers the Classification Committee to combine groups with few
entries; to subdivide those with excessive entries; to create new groups for
exhibits which do not fit scheduled groups; and to correct errors in entry,
classification and identification of irises whenever possible.

Our show schedule echoes this statement, and I was under the impression that
a similar statement was being required in all schedules. This gives the
Classification Committee the ability to make that decision on the fly as
determined by entry. Since we can not predict weather and bloom time, a
show planned to be a median/arilbred show can turn into a tall bearded show
or a show planned for tall beardeds can end up with a wonderful entry of
spurias and louisianas. The flexibility to combine groups or subdivide
groups is a great tool for the classification committee.
