Linda,
I've got two 512 MB ones, and those wouldn't come close to backing up the
data on my PCs here. I use them for carrying files around that I use on a
regular basis at client sites. Very cool! If you use Windows 200 or XP, you
just need to plug them in. I don't work on Macs, but I understand that you
just need to plug them in there also. Windows prior to 2000 need a driver
for these to be useful.
They appear as a removable drive on your machine, and you can copy files to
and fro as you would copy to a floppy or other removable media. With later
machines, you can even use them as a boot drive!. I am thinking about
getting one just for that purpose.

I didn't know that little keychain style storage devices were on the
market. I've gotten very sloppy about backing up files, mostly because
I didn't have anything that had large enough storage space for all the
photos I've accumulated.
So I gave in and went to wally world to buy a CD burner & discovered 256
Mb Lexar JumpDrives for $80. That will store a copy of nearly
everything on my PC.
Amazing technology - it's a tiny little do-dad about 3 inches long (with
the cover on) x about one inch wide and less than half an inch thick.
Easy to lose in the mess on my desk!
