Hi Bob,

As a hybridizer of median irises (all four classes), I would be interested in
more detail of how this work is being accomplished.

I have been taking slides of irises for over 35 years and have just recently
started scanning a few of them and getting them into my computer. I have been
making some adjustments to blue iris images which didn't appear blue in the
slides to get them closer to the real color. However, my scanner program came
with very few instructions and I haven't figured out how to transmit anything
except "Thumbnail" pictures. All the talk about pixel limits completely
intimidates me. So far I have scanned all our MDB, IB, BB, MTB and TB introductions
and about 24 future introductions of various classes. I haven't done most of
our SDBs yet because there are so many of them. I also have scanned a few
other irises to furnish prints to other people. I sent prints along with my
applications for registration this fall.

My Christmas presents this year include a HP Notebook computer with a CD
burner, an Epson combination scanner/printer/card reader, a new HP DeskJet color
printer and a Canon digital camera. They are all still in their boxes and may
take quite a while to get them all up and running, especially since I don't
know anything about how to program or use them. I'm getting pretty old to have
to learn about all this new technology.
