A few scattered flakes have been drifting down for a couple hours here also,
but now it is snowing heavily, not sticking as the temp is still above
freezing--but not for long. Weather warning says stay home, don't drive,
protect your outdoor animals--extreme exposure values tonight. Temps down to
15 degrees by dawn, one to five inches accumulation (all the early snow will
melt), high wind (20-35 mph steady, gusts to 50) by morning.
I saw on the Weather Channel (I think) was already down to about 7 degrees in
Chicago area. I don't remember for sure the degrees--just that it was
shockingly cold. All that Arctic air is headed our way right across you,
Betty and Linda.
Neil Mogensen z 7 (!) western NC mountains --well, it *is* winter, isn't
it--at least it will be day after tomorrow. I think the wooly worms
(caterpillars) were right--long band of brown with short black at both
ends--old timers in Idaho said that meant a long winter, and a "real" one.
