It would be a dull place if everyone liked the same form. And my preferences have been known to change : ) and dont worry Rosalie, no rebellions in the offing- we love to hear from you.
It is interesting to see how preferences evolve. I was perfectly happy with my mix of older, but still appealing irises right up until I saw the guests at the Memphis convention. When my own irises came into bloom a few weeks later, they just didnt have that same appeal. So the entire bed was replaced that fall- what else could I do?
The strong prejudice against haft markings had me puzzled. Sometimes they are sort of interesting. It only took a few days of wandering through the newly opened seedlings and it was obvious that I had a new preference for clean hafts when I was selecting, and oddly that I was choosing clean selfs over the bicolors which I was certain I preferred.
