Re: HYB:Research:Building a better rebloomer

Not true, there is not room for all!
99,99% of the introductions we see are all aming at overlapping falls, and general round shape. And even if i really love them, i call them the cabbage ones because i can't help compare them to other possibilities that seem to be NOT OK!

I would be pleased to see also different choices, or tastes, allowed.
in tests gardens, in catalogues and maybe one day among awards!

I'm not especially crazy about the very depressed hanging falls we used to see before, but going al the way into the opposite direction seems to lead to a dead end.
When all the irises overlap they falls, then what...

Indeed, I do remember the seedling you reference. Lovely and it does
illustrate your point beautifully.

If there is ONE thing I learned about iris people it's that we have as many opinions as we do people! We're all proud of being individuals with our own
likes or dislikes. Call it taste if you prefer.

There are many variations enjoyed by everyone. Open or domed standards?
Overlapping hafts or not even touching hafts? Round or oblong falls? Flaring or horizontal falls? Pastel colors or bright colors? Amoenas or variegatas?

We aren't going to like the same thing, but that's okay. There's room for
all.

Warning! Humor ahead! Is it possible that the larger fall areas is the
selective result of old age? They are easier to see? <vbg>
