CULT: Liberating Irises in Dead of Winter?


Anner, if it's true that roots will grow as long as soil temperature is above 45oF, a transplant ought to do ok in the ground, maybe with some protection. Especially if you can get a chunk with soil attached.

Do you have room in a cold frame? I've not been very successful keeping "adult" irises happy indoors over the winter, even on the sun porch, but I do have a bit of a 'black' thumb.
