Potential?

The pod parent is a seedling I like a lot!  It's fairly tall with good
branching and I like the colors.  It grows well, has a fall band, and has a
good ratio of stalks and fans..  I just don't like the lines on the hafts.

2014-02 is (1812-36re: Lemon Reflection x All Revved Up) X ((Edith Wolford x
(Silverado X Latin Lady)) x Theme Master)

2014-02 X Renown produced 56 seed from one pod.  Looking forward to the
results.  Hoping for rebloom with fall bands, while expecting a few plicatas.

Another cross using 2014-02 produced 141 seed from 2 pods.  Have no idea why I
thought I'd need two pods!  The pollen parent is a reblooming seedling from
(Blatant x All Revved Up.)  Any way--I can't throw seed away!  I've grouped it
with my plicatas, because I expect to get a bunch of plicatas with ARU on both
sides?  This is my fun cross of the year.  Wasn't intended that way, but
that's how it turned out.

I wasn't able to get any second generation crosses from RENOWN this
ear, but am eager to see results from a couple of first generation
rosses - all the seeds from both of these crosses looked bad, but I'm

Betty, it looks like number of seeds per pod wasn't any worse here for
he R crosses than for anything else this summer - most were fairly low
s.    46 seeds from R X yellow seedling: HoMTtall (HoM X TREASURED).
0 seeds from a pink seedling (DOCTOR ALAN x KIWI CHEESECAKE) X R.
retty good.  Most of the seeds in both these crosses looked good.
hree additional R crosses had 12 icky seeds, 23 ok, and 33 ok.
Other crosses had 29, 11, 30, 9, 14, 54 in two pods, 54, 19, 15.  These
ere mostly seedlings or IMM X cultivars from other climates.  The one
ith 9 seeds was cultivar X seedling. Rarely have success setting pods
ere on cultivars selected in other climates.
Like you, Betty, often much better seed production from my seedlings,
elected for doing well in my growing conditions.  124 seeds from two
ods of IC10Ty X HoMTtall.  The only other seedling X seedling cross
roduced 44 seeds - HoMTtall X 7Tshortpink: (IMM x CELEBRATION SONG) X
REASURED.  Most seeds from both these crosses looked good.
I rarely have more than about 40 seeds per pod, except on really junky
ough old retro crosses, which often have 60+ good seeds.  Typically ~20
o 30 on most crosses.
Wonder what kind of seed production/pod they get in iris heaven?
A/OR/OZ?  Wouldn't it be nice if registration info included how many
eeds there were/pod? LOL
