This is mostly a question for Chuck, but others please chime in.Back in 2004, there was a lot of discussion here about the genetics of zonals and their relationship to the plicata locus, luminatas in particular. Comments from Chuck Chapman, Fred Kerr, Lloyd Zurbrigg, and Neil Mogensen. (miss those latter two guys a lot)
At that time, there was speculation that both CLARENCE and SUKY have one or more doses of glaciata and/or 4 doses of luminata, possibly combined with dominant amoena.
Supposedly, Keith Keppel had been working on a definition of zonal.I have quite a bit of SUKY in the mix now, plus managed to get one pod using Keith's glaciata SUN SHINE IN.
Is the presence of luminata or glaciata genes in SUKY known for sure now?I didn't find anything more recent than 2004 in the archives, searching for zonal or for Suky.
