LOL - before my time "officially" growing irises. Yes, it is frustrating, but also exciting.I found another seedling a couple of days ago trying to develop a stalk, after severe killing cold in November, followed by repeated forays into the mid 20sF since. This is one that was re-set 2 yrs ago, and one other plant from the cross that is supposedly the same (they got mixed together a bit) had put up a stalk that wasn't showing color before the freeze that stopped everything.
It's the only self from the cross of Final Episode X (Tea Leaves x Matrix) - yellow :-( All the sibs have large darker fall spots or shoulders on cream to yellow ground.
Last year and the year before, I tried really hard to only make crosses that had a pretty good chance of producing rebloomers, even if they are boring yellows or whites, but we all know how that goes. Especially in a bad year, where nothing is working.
