Me and Ma nature killed BATIK here long ago and have been waiting for
prices to come down to 'mart prices on some of the Kasperek cultivars
before seeing if we can kill them too. One of our club members had
stalks at a show several years ago from NIGERIAN RASPBERRY and TIGER
HONEY and maybe some others. They were absolutely gorgeous in mixed
bouquets, tho I didn't much care for them by themselves. I keep looking
for them in our club sales, but haven't seen them and don't know if
others are buying them before I get there or if they don't multiply well
or if they died - will try to check with some other club members and let
folks know how they do in this part of the world.
TIGER HONEY is from DESERT REALM, one of my beloved favorites here. I'm
hoping TH will like my excessively drained gravelly soil. DR doesn't do
very well here where the drainage isn't as excessive (prefers drought to
adequate moisture, and doesn't thrive with competing companion plants).
Janet, others in Georgia/SC - have you tried these or other Kasperek
intros?
