Oops.
Re-reading that thread in the archives - it was Jim in Missouri and
Vince in Pennsylvania and Lloyd in North Carolina. But others said it
did ok here and there in the east.
Several other of his recent cultivars were mentioned that have done well
in soggy and cold regions but I'm too lazy to re-post them.

saw an immature golden eagle harrassing the estimated 12000 visiting
sandhill cranes yesterday. The eastern population of cranes has grown
from about 500 in the 1970s to this amazing mass of chortling monsters.
The golden eagles have just been hacked here in the last couple of
years.
