Don't be too patient. I kept it for 5 years. It bloomed the second spring after I planted it in the fall, and then sort of a scraggly, pathetic thing. It never bloomed again, and slowly dwindled away. No increase to speak of, and what there was didn't live long enough to mature. No rot or anything, it just disappeared. There were no signs of digging, so I can't blame the armadillos or the neighbors. I guess it did not like Texas summers! Everything around it did acceptably well.
It's a shame because CS is a beautiful flower.
