Jan,
To me Vintner is not particularly close to black. It is more purple-red in
my garden and pictures. Elizabeth Carol does have some ruffles, not as many as
I would like but some. I also like Black as Night. We are also working on a
good ruffled black (us and half the hybridizing world) <G>. Who knows maybe in
the babies that we hope will bloom this spring.
