Check the archives. There was an extensive thread on this subject about a
year ago, if memory serves, including citation of the original scientific
article that reported tests of two nematode species against the borer.
Both species were as effective as Cygon or marginally better. The question
is expense, and application techniques.
See also pp. 56-57 of THE GARDENER'S IRIS BOOK (available, by the way, from
the AIS Storefront at a great bargain price).
Look for a great article on the borer and the verbena bud moth in an
upcoming AIS bulletin, by Don and Ginny Spoon. I have seen a draft of the
article and it will be the last word on borer biology and control until
some new research (unlikely) comes out.
