The original starter of this thread (Kathy Poore?) implied in her message
that she had had repeated flames from a single person..... is this correct?
If so, the person should just plain be barred from this list. It is quite
possible for John to do so as far as I know. No-one should be allowed to
get away with abusing others.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I too have been somewhat misconcieved in my
view of this list as I thought that generally it was a bunch of pretty nice
people. Shame I (and Jan) was wrong.
I really think that ALL flaming should be sent to the moderator, so that if
a pattern emerges of a particular person writing without thinking (which I
have done at times...... but I don't make a regular habit of it) then they
can either be contacted and asked not to, or they can be removed from the
list so that they can't be abusive.
It all comes down to standing up for yourselves. If it is just accepted and
never reported then it will just continue to happen and more and more people
will be upset and either stop contributing or leave the list. NOONE has the
right to do that to others. Flamers should be cautioned and then removed if
they do not reform. Plain and simple.
Now..... I don't think this can be miscontrued as a flame? But hopefully it
might make a few people report others for abuse.... particularly if they
still have all the flames that have been sent to them.
