Good heavens! (I confess, it was at least partially me who started this
tempest in a teapot...) All I did was add a polite plea/reminder for folks
to please add the subject tag - I really and truly don't even care if its
correct or not!
In my own parsimonious way, I write my own shell code to parse email
headings to put it in various folders since I can sometimes get more than
300 emails in a day. Headings that follow a pattern are so much easier to
filter for. And I have to admit when I first looked at joining this list, in
my own geek way, one of the most appealing things was that the list had
these subject tags... But I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses filters,
self written or not.
And out of all the miscellaneous and sundry lists I'm on, I would have to
say that this one has the nicest people/posts and was the most flame free...
and thats worth far more to me than an occassional spate of off topic
chatter (that I'm contributing to!)...
