I, indeed, tried that, and will again, if I can ever get I.cristata to stay alive for me. I cristata was the pod parent, It's pollen had gotten wet, so a recriprocal cross was out (only one bud, also) . The resulting pod grew, but alas, it was a false pregnancy - no seeds. I was really looking forward to the results.

Has anyone ever tried crossing I. cristata with I. tectorum? I wonder if
that could work? The AIS bulletin makes reference to a variegated foliage
form of tectorum. Does any nursery sell that in USA?
