OT-CHAT: Screening out the World

I'm just sitting here watching this unfold and instead of sending a note to 
Margaret I thought I'd just post in case other people were bewildered.

Margaret, your first post with the so-called 'obscenity' arrived fine here, 
so apparently it is a filter somewhere other than One-list. 

And there is nothing even remotely obscene about your terminology. The word 
in question, 'nip' is a bona-fide word right there in the current 
dictionary--I just looked at the Random House College which is here at my 
elbow before I said that--and aside from anything else it has to be 
CAPITALIZED to refer in an offensive manner to the denizens of ancient Japan. 
  

The whole situation is inane, Margaret, or would be if it were not so scary, 
all that piety combined with ignorance. Quite makes me want to say dirty 
words until their circuits melt.
