OK ... one last thing. It's not just exe's that pose a threat. Symantec 
(and everbody else) says,

  "You should not launch any executable-file attachment (EXE, SHS, MS Word 
or MS Excel file)..."

And usually you hear that in regards to "Untrusted" sources.

I would like to point out that in the case of a worm like this one, it 
would almost certainly come (unwillingly & unknowingly) from a trusted source.

Ken's advice on protecting yourself is Gospel.
