  Rodney, have you seen the big stand of i. orientalis near the Texas
  Welcome
Center off  I-20 at Waskom?  It is not on the grounds itself but to 
the east and behind a chainlink fence.  There are thousands of clumps of
it there.  They have naturalized very well over the years in this
semi-swampy location.

  Leon Wolford used to mention other areas of East Texas near the 
Louisiana line where orientalis had naturalized.  Also, there are 
supposed to be some in the Big Thicket area of southeast TX.
