I might add that in hundreds of crosses involving tangerine beards, I
do not remember a single non-violet showing up in violet x violet.
That does not mean that none did--I just do not remember any. One
would expect a few, I would think. There were occasional plicatas
however. The assumption that both the Muhlestein and Hall line pinks
were dominant Inhibitor for anthocyanin did not ever seem challenged
by the small progenies per cross that were involved.
