I believe that the original Fay line was also pink by virtue of the dominant
inhibitor.
Gibson's APRIL MELODY did prove to be recessive for anthocyanin production,
and I suspect that other predecessors to today's glaciatas may also have had
mixed heritage.
Separating the effect of the dominant inhibitor from the recessive trait is
certainly a non-trivial task!
