Re: SPEC: Schizostylis coccinea


This plant likes a wet position, and is fond of peatmoss.  I wouldn't
bother with fertilizer at all, provided a good peaty soil and plenty of
water can be provided.

Schizostylis seems to be becoming popular--I see it offered by several
nurseries this year.  It is supposed to be hardy in Zone 7, but I still
keep mine in pots.  I saw beautiful spreads of this plant in the wet rock
garden at the Royal Botanical Garden in Edinburgh some years back.
