Ms. Rosalie, you are the envy of allott of us "West Coast" iris lovers!
To have both an original and copy of Dykes is great. I had the pleasure
to sit in on a "garden club" general meeting yesterday and one of the
charter members (in her late 80's) donated her stash of gardening books,
including many first editions to the club with the thought of starting a
library for the club. Since I was the guest speaker and had already
donated my fee (can you believe they pay me to talk about my second
favorite thing on earth) to the AIS library fund I was delighted!! What
does happen to most "iris" books when people get tired of seeing them
gather dust or lugging them from house to house!! Of course I am not
talking about us iris nuts. lorraine nicholson in Modesto CA cleaning
up old iris fans, working on 2002 catalog and enjoying warmer weather.
