That is correct; my question about an iris having been introduced
has not been answered yet. A name may appear as a registration,
but if that iris has never been introduced, the name can be used
again.
The online Name Data, in some cases, has the year of the
decennial Checklist and not the actually year of registration.
Examples:
LAURA CAILLET was registered in 1942 according to the hard
copy. The online Name Data shows 1949. MISS GRENADA shows
a registration year of 1943 in the hard copy, but the date is 1949 for
the online Name Data. There is no explanation as to what the date
means on line and the actual dates of registration are not online.
The date shown online is the date of the Checklist.
My own DRIFTING CONFETTI has caused confusion. In the online
Name Data, it has one entry which shows dates of 1989/1979,
When I bring it up on line with Checklist Data, it shows three
entries. I did transfer this name to another seedling, but only the
introduction of 1984 should show.
