There's another problem, too, and it's one I keep forgetting to mention 
to John.  The DB searches (both Name Data and Checklist Data) often get 
confused by names containing punctuation marks, esp apostrophes.  If I'm 
searching for something that I think even might contain some punctuation 
mark (', -, etc.), I'll generally search only the part of the name before 
the anticipated punctuation and complete the search term with the 
wildcard symbol (*). 

I don't think Walter's original question has been addressed yet, though.  
If I understand correctly, he is trying to figure out how to interpret 
the individual entry "shorthand" to determine which '39 and '49 CL 
registrations have actually been introduced and which have not.
