Dear BEtty, I had a bunch of helpful ideas(I thought) for you at National
about ready to send and somehow the email got wiped off the screen and I
couldn't find it, and finally found your letter already transferred to "old
mail" I'm getting a little tired of aol deciding things for me and I'm
thinking of changing to something else!
Now, let's see if I can reconstruct my email!
Most Board meetings may be not as much fun because they decide (maybe!)
policies and general business stuff. There are usually no restrictions about
attending, but unless you are on the Board, you can't vote of course. The
General meetings of sections are open to everyone, you can't vote there
unless you belong to that section, and you will go crazy trying to run around
to find the rooms to attend all of them! But I hope you will come to the
Rebloomer one, I'm trying to get more hybridizers to try to make some good
rebloomers. There is such a demand for them, and it certainly makes sense to
have an iris you can enjoy more than once in a season. Each section usually
has a main speaker, and we have a super one - a surprise! So be sure to come
to that! AND be sure to sign up for the GEEK dinner! That is lots of fun,
it is an extra charge so watch out for the announcement and sign up. You
don't have to be too geeky, after all I go and I don't know half what they
say, and you are a lot more knowledgeable than I am!
As for what to wear - after all it is an iris convention so it seems anything
goes! The 2 dinners are a little more dressy, they are sort of special
occasions. However, in the "old days" they even wore evening clothes - but
not now, thank goodness - that makes too much to pack! And most people don't
have those duds! I've outgrown all mine!!!! L:ooking forward to seeing you
there! You'll love it! OH. yess! Bring your camera if you have that "bug"
And I know you know to bring comfortable shoes, AND since you are near there,
you probably realize a raincoat, umbrella, or whatever you use for bad
weather is usually necessary to have --- There is usually precipitation
during a National --- in Denver we had snow! Just think 3 days of gardens
! But I enjoy the people just as much, It's fun to meet the hybridizer of
your favorite irises! Looking forward to seeing you there, at least I hope
to make it! Rosalie nr Baltimore zone 7 where we may now be getting winter
after rivaling Florida with our temperatures for the last month or so!
