Re: HIST: unknown diploid?


Laetitia Munro has posted a photo to iris-photos of an unknown from
Deckertown section of Sussex NJ that looks very much like one of my
late-blooming tough old species looking critters, also much like one
Neil Mogensen near Asheville has.

Anybody want to make some fresh guesses as to what this thing might be?
I am especially curious to know if it might be fertile & what it is
descended from.  Or if it is a species.  Neil M. speculates it's similar
enough to variegata & pallida that it might be a relative, but it
doesn't remind me of either.
