Re: SPEC: I. japonica


Bill, your comments on I. japonica variegata loosing its variegation has
not proved to be the case in my garden.  My specimens, both potted and
outside, have stayed variegated...though I've had very few blooms.  I do
have problems with leaf tip browning.

I suspect your prediction on loss of bloom due to tonight's low temps is
right on target.

P.S.  A few years ago I. japonica variegata was being marketed by a
national source as I. tectorum variegata.  Is that sad practice still
continuing?
