If this is true, that explains why we have never had 'smelly'
rot. We are too cold. Finally, a benefit for our climate plus we
have never seen an iris borer in our gardens. Has to be the
extreme cold - there is no other explanation that I can come up
with for lack of Erwinia c. or the dreaded borer.
Not complaining in New Hampshire,
Ellen (..only get some rot in the early spring which when the
snow is melting. Early spring here means late April.)
