One of these days, I will return the Vallette iris book that John J
loaned me, but I threw up my hands (brain?) in despair when I read the
section about pigments and stopped reading.  The discussion was about
different species of irises (aphylla, reichenbachii/balkana, chamaeiris,
& maybe some others I forget) that have sometimes contributed to modern
TBs & how they don't necessarily have the same pigments or patterns of
pigments, even when they look the same.
